Trust and data

Built on public data, handled properly

Everything Blimpse knows, it learned from conversations anyone can read. This page explains what we collect, what we refuse to collect, and how your data is handled. Written for your procurement team as much as for you.

Principles

Four rules we do not bend

Public conversations only

Blimpse reads what is publicly available: reviews, forums, news, public social posts. We never collect from behind logins, never scrape authenticated content, and never buy private datasets.

People, minimised

The product analyses conversations, not individuals. Author identities are not profiled, personal data is not retained beyond what the analysis requires, and verbatims in reports are quoted as published, with their public source.

Your data stays yours

Your intake details, your reports and your portal data belong to you. Every report you receive is yours to keep, subscription or not. We do not sell or share customer data.

Responsible collection

Collection is rate-limited and respectful of the platforms it reads. We use established, compliant data infrastructure rather than home-rolled scrapers.

GDPR

Aligned with European data law

Blimpse operates from Europe and New Zealand and is built to GDPR expectations by default, not as an enterprise add-on.

Questions your DPO will ask are welcome: hello@getblimpse.com.

Lawful basis

Analysis of publicly available information under legitimate interest, with minimisation applied at every step.

Data subject requests

Individuals can request removal of their public statements from our analysis at any time. We action requests promptly.

Retention

Raw collected conversation is retained only as long as needed to produce and support your reports, then deleted on schedule.

Where data lives

Customer and analysis data is hosted with major cloud providers, encrypted in transit and at rest.

Procurement questions

The short answers

Is this legal?

Reading publicly available conversation is lawful, and it is how every listening and monitoring product in the category works. Where Blimpse differs is minimisation: we analyse markets, not people.

Will you sign a DPA?

Yes. A data processing agreement is available for any paid plan. Enterprise plans can include custom terms.

Can we review your subprocessors?

Yes. The current list of infrastructure and data providers is available on request, with notice before changes.

Who do I contact about privacy?

hello@getblimpse.com reaches the founders directly. Privacy requests are handled personally, not by a queue.
